What is 3D Engraving
- Generally any shades or greys are engraved as a dot screen.
- In case 3D engraving NO dots are used to break up the grey shades. Instead, the depth of engraving determines the shade of grey. Black being deepest. White being no engraving.
- The result is a 3D replication of Image. This suits some work well
- In some cases multiple engraves of same image are required if deeper engraved result is required in 3D
- In timbers the natural grain will show as part of the character in a 3D engraving
- In plastics and uniform materials the 3D engraving will follow the contours of the grey shades very closely.
